Congratulations to our National Cadet League team who finished 4 days of competition as winners of division 3.
The National Cadet League is the premier under 15’s competition in the region and features teams from across East Anglia. Result from the league are published online (at https://ncl-njl-stowmarket.ttleagues.com/) and results go towards players individual national ranking.
We started Day 1 in Division 3 but quickly won promotion into a very strong Division 2 and were relegated back to Division 3. The top 3 teams in division 3 had also endured the same path over the first 3 days and so the final day was always going to be close between us. We eventually won by just 1 point with a strong 8-1 win in our final match while the other two teams had to play each other. Each day involves up to 9 matches for each player and so this young side deserves a lot of credit for the way they managed the ups and downs over the 4 days. Match play is the result of good training and so it’s good to see their hard work on training nights rewarded.
A huge thank you to the team of parents and supporters who also lived through the emotions of the 4 days. With the final day also clashing with Mother’s Day a special mention to the mum’s who gave up their day to support the team.
